When opening an Asset form, the Information tab is shown by default. General information about the Asset is displayed on this tab.
The Information tab holds a lot of information and has been grouped into major and minor sections to enhance readability. Each major section can be collapsed or expanded using the “-” or “+” buttons on the left hand side of the section name.
The large ‘+’ and ‘-‘ buttons on the right hand side of the form are used to collapse or expand the Information tab as a whole.
When the Asset form is closed, the combination of collapsed and expanded sections is reestablished the next time it is opened.
In Conquest II, when an Asset form is first opened it is editable, provided that the user has permission. The fields with coloured background are read-only and fields with a white background are for user input.
Identity Fields
Field |
Description |
Description or Asset Name |
The Asset Description or Name is entered here. It should be as distinctive as possible to make it easily recognisable. |
Asset ID |
The number in the top right corner of the form header is the unique Asset ID generated by Conquest. |
Asset Status |
Used for Valuation purposes, this field displays the status of the Asset and can be • Proposed • Existing • Disposed |
Family Code |
A system generated code to identify the position of the Asset in the Asset Hierarchy. The form of the Asset Family Code is a series of three digit numbers separated with full stops e.g. ‘001.001.002’. There is no restriction on the number of levels, each containing as many as 999 Assets. When an Asset record is created, it is given a Family Code, which it keeps until such time as it is moved to somewhere else in the hierarchy, where it is given the first available, unallocated Family Code. Whenever an Asset is moved its old Family Code is no longer available, so it is possible for the maximum of 999 to be reduced over time. If this loss of numbers becomes a problem then contact Conquest Support to have that level of Family Codes consolidated. |
The following fields have an ellipsis button on their right to open a Hierarchical data selector form | |
Asset Type |
Displays the description of the Type that the Asset belongs to. If the Asset is just a grouping of other, real Assets, it does not have to be given an Asset Type. Asset Types are templates or standards set up in the Conquest Knowledge Base. See Asset Types. |
Organisation Unit |
Displays the description of the person or department, within the organisation, made responsible for the Asset. See Organisational Units. |
Location |
Displays the description of the location of the Asset, which is different from the location implied by the Asset Hierarchy. See Locations. |
Function |

Tax Asset |
