2.59a1

Prerequisites

Conquest database version 2.59 requires the SQL Server Spatial Data component available from SQL Server 2008 R2 onwards. Customers still on SQL Server 2005 will need to upgrade to be able to use Conquest II.

When upgrading from Conquest II Version 2.58b2 or earlier, the “Administrator Installation” option must be ticked to provide additional, post-installation files:

      Scripts for upgrading the database

The Report Patch to be applied to rebuild the Conquest Reports. For more details see Upgrading Reports

For details on installing Conquest II, see the Conquest Installation Guide.

Changes

Functional, Performance and Stability Enhancements

Introduced a new Valuation Option to limit adjustment in Written-Down Value proportional to the increase in Capital Value.  Designed to prevent large Write-Backs in Depreciation, which may occur:

When changing from Age to Condition Based methods of calculating Written-Down Value

When there are large adjustments in Condition for an Asset

      See Batch Valuation for details

Introduced a new Depreciation Calculation method, where an Annual Charge is specified. This is additional to the current method, which calculates Remaining Depreciable Value over Remaining Life

Introduced a new field to record a Renewal Rate for Asset Types. The Renewal Cost is displayed on the Asset in addition to the Replacement Cost

Changes to the Expiry date are now recorded as a Key Parameter change (creates a transaction in the log)

Allow a user to specify, whether Key Parameters (Function / Expiry Date) should change during the rollback process

Included support for setting the date, when changing asset types in bulk

Retirement Date/Reason/User data are now recorded, when retiring an Asset

The Editor and Edit Date are now recorded every time a change is made in the primary Conquest Object Forms (Asset, Action, Defect, Request, Asset Inspection) and in addition:

When changes in a Conquest Form update data in a table related to a primary Conquest Object, the Editor and Edit Date data of that Object is updated (i.e. change to Action Cost Estimates results in the Action being updated)

Organisations using the SQL Server Enterprise version, Change Data feature, will now have Who and When for every change made in the primary Conquest Object Forms

Changes to the structure of the tables were made as part of the preparation to support synchronisation of off-line data

Support for importing condition data based on percentage distribution method. The actual percentage is entered in the upload file directly (as opposed to the CodeID). Percentages should add up to 100%

Introduced a new rehabilitation flag to Actions. These Actions can be extracted for reporting purposes

Introduced a new field to assign a score (priority) to a Severity on the Standard Defect

Can set a Defect Severity on the Standard Defect

Improved performance of the Defect Import tool, when Defects are imported on Assets with many existing Defects

The Request Id (ArqID) is now available for selection in the Request Email Merge Editor

Fixed a problem with requesting Approval for an Action

An Asset’s age now displays in the same format for all Transaction Types

The Closing Date now displays in the same format for all Transaction Types

Non administrative users now only have access to system and personal filters

Standard Action notes are appended to Action notes under the right circumstances

Wizard Reports that include Condition data work correctly now

Assets can now be imported by users with general Edit Permissions on Assets
