How To Manage the Document Directory

As a Conquest Administrator set the Document Directory network path from the System Options:

Use the Conquest ‘Document Directory’ in either of two ways:

As a single, unstructured repository of files, managed in the Data Objects structures of the Conquest Asset Register and Knowledge Base, which will not require sub-folders to be managed

As a structured repository of files, organized in levels of sub-folders

The second option is managed with “Administrator Only” functions in the ‘New Document’ dialog form. See How To Upload a New Document and How To Reuse an Existing Document for details of the ‘New Document’ functions for non-Administrators

With a Conquest Data Object Form open in Edit mode, create a sub-folder as follows:

Click the ‘New Document’ Task to open the ‘New Document’ dialog form

Use the Ellipsis button on the right side of the grey “Folder Bar”, to open the Conquest ‘Select a folder’ dialog form, which displays a Hierarchy of the sub-folders in the ‘Document Directory’

Click the ‘New Folder’ button, which opens the ‘New Folder’ dialog

Enter a Folder Name and click the ‘Create’ button, which displays the resulting folder in the ‘Select a folder’ dialog form

Click the ‘Select’ button to return to the ‘New Document’ dialog form or continue to create more folders, as required

To correct an error, select the folder name and click the ‘Rename’ button, to open the ‘Rename’ dialog form

Enter the correct folder name then click the ‘Rename’ button to return to the ‘Select a folder’ dialog form
