Attributes are a collection of fields that are used to further identify Actions, Assets, Defects and Inspections. Users are able to select and specify a label for any combination of fields from the available user field list. This will form an attribute set for the object. The Attribute Set that has been configured for a specific Asset is determined by the attribute set allocated to the Asset’s Asset Type. Similarly, the Attribute Set that has been configured for a specific Action, Defect or Inspection is determined by the Attribute Set allocated to the Standard Action, Standard Defect or Standard Inspection. The attribute set for each object is configured in the relevant section of the Attribute Set Editor form. Click on the button on the toolbar or select View>Attributes in the menu to open the Attribute Set Editor.
The Attribute Set Editor has a simple navigator on the left hand side of the form which separates Attribute Sets by type; Action, Asset, Defect and Inspection. The right hand side of the form allows the user to edit, copy or delete the selected Attribute Set or add a new attribute set.
All Attribute Sets provide the capacity to define text, numeric, date, logical (yes/no) and list user fields. Up to 30 of each type can be created in each Attribute Set.
To add an Attribute Set, select the Attribute Set Type you want to add and click the Add button. Fill in the Description field, after which a blank Attribute Set will be displayed, available for configuration
You must have edit permissions for the Knowledge Base to be able to create and change Attributes.
