Things to be aware of:
Copying doesn’t copy the Inspections, Defects and Actions of the Asset being copied because it is effectively a new Asset.
Copying does copy all of the Child Assets of an Asset being copied and their descendants too but will fail, if there is a Disposed descendant.
There is a System Option Allow copy in Asset Explorer to, which can be set by the Administrator to:
• All
• Administrators
• None
There is a System Option Allow valued assets to be copied, which can be set by the Administrator to Yes or No. When Yes, Valued Assets will be copied but the new Assets will have no Value and Transactions.
Copied Assets are given Family Codes at the end of the current set of Family Codes below the Asset being copied to. During the Copy, if the last three digits of the new family codes reach 999, Conquest III will check for and use any unused codes in the entire set of child Assets. If there are not enough available Family Codes then the entire Copy is cancelled. How To Manage Assets for more details.
