Setting Up The Conquest – SMEC Interface

The Conquest – SMEC Interface uses the SMEC API to transfer data between the systems.  The SMEC API consists of staging database views and tables and an executable file (PMSAPIAPP.exe) which is used to validate and load data from the staging tables into SMEC.

The interface uses ODBC to communicate with the SMEC database.  Therefore an ODBC Datasource must be created on each workstation where the interface will be used.  This includes workstations that do not have SMEC installed but may be used to Complete Actions that result in treatment information being passed to SMEC.  The ODBC Datasource Name must be consistent on all workstations.

Please note that it is a requirement that all users who will use the interface must at least have edit permission on the SMEC staging tables and read permission on all other SMEC views and tables.  This includes users who may only Complete Actions that result in data being loaded back into SMEC.  These users may not actually have the SMEC PMS application installes on their workstation.
