The two options, Reset Asset Hierarchy and Reset Knowledge Base Hierarchy, are used to rebuild the Asset or Knowledge Base hierarchical code structures. These functions do not change the parent child relationship but re-calculate the Family Code or Type Code for each Asset or Asset Type.
Over time gaps will exist in the code hierarchies as Assets or Asset Types are cut/pasted or deleted. Running these functions will refresh these hierarchies to remove the gaps.
Once one of these functions has been executed, any filters that are based on Family or Type codes will probably become invalid. These should be re-configured to ensure their usability.
To Reset a Hierarchy, a Conquest Administrator must have the DB_DDLAdmin or DB_OWNER database role.
