It goes like this:
• Open an Asset Type in the Asset Type Form
• Click the New > Standard Inspection Task, to create an empty Standard Inspection for you to flesh out
• Give it an appropriate name
• If you want to record workflow data specific to your organisation, do so by selecting a preconfigured Asset Inspection, Attribute Set. See How To Maintain Defect Attribute Sets for details
• If it’s applicable, select a Standard Action to be the default for your new Standard Defect, so that both a Defect and an Action are created, when the Standard Defect is used to create a Defect
• Click Save
Things to be aware of:
Standard Defects on Asset Types, are used again and again as “Templates” for the subsequent creation of Defects on Assets, which offers you these benefits:
• Less data entry
• Standardisation of data
• Accuracy of standard data
