How To Set Up Resources

From the Navigation Window:

      Click Knowledge Base

      Expand the Editors group

Click the Resources Library then set up Resources for assignment to Action Tasks of Standard Actions and Actions, in any of the following groups:

      Labour

      Equipment

      Materials

Contractors. Set these up first in the Contractors Editor Form and flag them as Resources, to make them available in the Resource Library, where their standard rates can be configured

      Click Editors

      Click Contractors

      Create a Contractor

Mark the Contractor as a Resource, which makes it available to use in the Resource Library

      For Labour, Equipment and Materials:

Select an existing Resource then left-click the New Task in the Task Bar

Select either Top Level Resource, or Resource, as required, where a Top Level Resource is used to create diverse sub-groups e.g. within Equipment:

      Heavy Plant

      Light Plant

      Heavy Vehicle

      Light Vehicle

      Enter the Resource data

      Click Save

Set Rates for Resources as follows:

Labour - Select a Unit of Measure from the fixed list; Minute, Hour, Day, Week, Year

      Standard Rate

      Overtime Rate

      Double Rate

Equipment - Select a Unit of Measure from the fixed list; Minute, Hour, Day, Week, Year

      Standard Rate

      Standby Rate

Materials - Select a Unit of Measure from the System Code List

      Standard Rate

Contractors - Select a Unit of Measure from the Unit of Measure

      Standard Rate

Things to be Aware of:

Contractor Resources may be given multiple rates with differing units of measure, as required.

Resources are configured much the same as other hierarchies, but they are not physically deleted, just flagged.

For a Labour Resource it is best to use standard position titles rather than actual staff names, as this avoids problems with privacy and with staff changing positions.

Any combination of Resources can be added to an Action Task in the Action Form. See Action Form Tasks for more details.
