How To Perform a Defect Inspection

To set up a regular schedule for Defect Inspections, open the relevant Asset Type’s Inspection tab and edit the Defect Inspection Frequency section.  Defect Inspection schedules are based on the Priority assigned to an Asset. (Refer to the reference section, Asset Type Form – Inspection Tab for more detail.)

Recording a Defect Inspection

Creating a Defect against an Asset will record a Defect Inspection for that Asset and the Next Defect Inspection date will be generated based on the schedule set for the Priority of the Asset.  A Defect Inspection has no relation to the Asset’s condition inspection.

Defect Inspections can be carried out using either, Conquest Mobile, Tablet PC Edition or Conquest Mobile, Pocket PC Edition.  Alternatively, importing defects will also create a Defect Inspection.

Inspection History

At any time the Information about a previous Defect Inspection for an Asset can be viewed by selecting the Defect for the relevant Inspection on the Inspection Tab and clicking the View button.  This will open that Defect.

Things to be aware of:

Frequent view filters for appropriate staff could be set-up to display the Assets that are due for Defect inspections.  (e.g. Next Defect Inspection is less than Today  to get a list of Defect Inspections that are due).  These would ideally be frequent views for that user and would be expected to be run regularly.  (Refer to the reference section on Filtering for more detail on filters.)

Conquest Mobile will automatically record Defect Inspections when the Defects are loaded back into Conquest
