The Location Editor can be used to create a hierarchy of locations for your organisation, for example it might be a break up of wards or towns or suburbs. This then allows an Asset to be assigned an entry from this hierarchy thereby allowing filters that show all Assets in a particular location. Because this assignment comes from a set hierarchy it eliminates typographical errors. The location description field, which is a text field, can then be used to record specific location.

Things to be aware of:-
•It is common to record suburb or town names in the location description field but this can be difficult to filter as things can be recorded in a multitude of ways in text fields. This is why the Location Code was introduced to assist with the consistent description of locations.
