Codes And Code Sets

Codes and Codesets are used throughout to build pick lists. A Code represents a single choice available in a pick list which a Codeset is the complete list of choices.

There are five (5) different types of Codesets used in Conquest

Codeset Category

Description

System Lists

System lists are predefined Code Sets used by the system. System lists cannot be added or deleted as a whole

User Lists

Any user defined list which can be allocated to a User Field for Assets, Defects or Actions

Condition List

Used for the specific purpose of allocating a condition rating and score for a Condition Attribute

Element List

These are used to define the different elements of an Asset that would be used to record a Defect

Consequence of Failure

These are lists that are used to score Consequences of Failure in the Conquest Risk Module

Defect Lists

These have been superseded by Standard Defects

Code Editor

The Code Editor gives access to the data behind field drop-lists in Conquest known as Code Lists.

Field

Description

Code Caption

This is the name of the Code List. It appears as the label field that appears on the forms.

Code

This column shows the system-generated, unique number that identifies a list item. Use this value in bulk import or update files to represent the attribute.

Text

This column is where the user can enter the description of the drop list option. This would appear in the drop down list of the relevant field on the form.

Points

This field can be used to specify the weight for the different options. This is fairly important for some of these Codes such as the Priority Parameters and Condition Codes

Add Category

Selecting this button will create a new Code in the selected section.

Remove

This Button will remove the selected Code List. This can’t be done for System Codes.

Add Code

For adding a new Code to the currently selected Category.

Delete Code

Deletes a Code from the currently selected Category.

Up/Down Arrows

Use these arrows to move the selected Code up or down in the list.
