The Defect Inspection Tab provides a good way to record the visits to a Defect that is being monitored; yet to be remedied.

The Current Inspection is for the latest visit to a Defect; in this example being monitored monthly. Should there be no further deterioration, edit the Defect and select a future date to revisit on:

Which generates a Previous Defect Inspection and updates the Current Defect Inspection record.
